The Alcatel-Lucent 8028 Premium DeskPhone combines professional IP telephony, programmable call handling and directory access in a practical desktop telephone.
Its backlit monochrome display presents calling information, menus, system services and contextual functions in a clear format.
Six dedicated keys beside the display provide direct access to the functions shown on screen.
Four additional programmable keys with LEDs and paper labels can be configured for lines, extensions, speed dials or supported telephone-system features.
The integrated navigation control allows users to move through menus, call records, directories and telephone settings.
Permanent feature keys provide convenient access to commonly used functions such as hands-free calling, mute, volume adjustment, redial, information and messaging.
The removable alphabetic keyboard makes name-based directory searches and text entry easier than using a conventional numeric keypad alone.
Wideband audio through the comfort handset helps provide natural and intelligible voice reproduction when supported by the connected telephone system.
The built-in full-duplex speakerphone supports hands-free conversations and conference-style calls at the desk.
A 3.5 mm headset connection allows a compatible wired headset to be attached for hands-free working.
The phone includes two 10/100/1000 Ethernet ports, allowing it to connect to the business network while also providing a network pass-through connection for a computer.
Power over Ethernet support allows the phone to receive power through a compatible PoE network switch or injector.
An external power adapter can be used where a suitable PoE connection is unavailable, but it is not included as standard.
The adjustable desk stand allows the viewing and operating angle to be altered to suit the user’s workspace.
Support for compatible Alcatel-Lucent add-on modules allows additional programmable keys to be added where required.

COMPATIBILITY & SETUP
The Alcatel-Lucent 8028 Premium DeskPhone is designed for use with compatible Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise telephone systems and network infrastructure.
Available functions depend on the connected communication server, system software, licensing, user permissions and administrator configuration.
The phone supports Power over Ethernet and can normally receive both data and electrical power from a compatible PoE network switch or injector.
Where PoE is unavailable, a compatible external power supply will be required. A power supply is not included unless specifically stated or selected.
The integrated computer Ethernet port can provide a network connection to a nearby computer, subject to the design and configuration of the business network.
Telephone-system programming, extension credentials and network configuration are not supplied with the phone and must be completed by the customer or their system maintainer.
Although the phone supports system-controlled SIP operation in certain deployments, it should not be assumed to work as a universal standalone SIP telephone on every third-party platform.
Please note: A telephone system, PoE switch, external power supply, headset, add-on module, extension licence and installation service are not included unless specifically stated.
