DESIGNED FOR BUSINESS
The Mitel 5312 is designed for general office users who need straightforward access to multiple lines, extensions and telephone-system features without the complexity of a larger executive handset.
Its two-line, 20-character display shows call information, prompts and feature details. Displayed information varies according to the telephone platform, system programming and active call state.
Twelve programmable keys can be configured by the telephone-system administrator for extension appearances, outside lines, commonly used features or one-touch speed dialling. Key functions and labels depend on the system configuration.
Dedicated fixed-function controls provide quick access to frequently used features such as hold, transfer or conference, redial, message access, mute, speakerphone and volume adjustment.
The integrated hands-free speakerphone allows users to make and receive calls without lifting the handset. A compatible wired headset can also be used where supported and correctly configured on the telephone system.
Two Ethernet ports allow the phone to connect to the local network while providing a pass-through connection for a nearby desktop computer. This can reduce the need for a second network socket at the workstation.
The phone can receive power from a compatible Power over Ethernet network switch or injector. Where PoE is unavailable, a suitable Mitel external power adapter is required and is available separately unless specifically stated as included.
The Mitel 5312 was produced for use across several Mitel telephone platforms, including MiVoice Business and MiVoice 250. SIP versions were also available, but firmware and platform compatibility must be confirmed before deployment.

COMPATIBILITY & SETUP
The Mitel 5312 is a system IP phone and normally requires a compatible Mitel telephone platform, suitable licensing and configuration by the system administrator or communications provider.
Connect the phone’s LAN port to a suitable Ethernet network. Where the network provides compatible Power over Ethernet, the phone can receive power through the network cable. Otherwise, a suitable external power adapter is required.
The second Ethernet port can be used to connect a nearby computer through the phone. Network settings, VLAN configuration and quality-of-service requirements should be confirmed with the system administrator before installation.
Mitel produced platform-specific and SIP firmware for the 5312. A unit configured for one platform may not register correctly on another without compatible firmware, provisioning files and administrator access.
Available lines, programmable keys, voicemail access, call forwarding, conferencing and other features are controlled by the connected telephone system rather than by the handset alone.
Please note: This telephone is not designed for direct connection to an ordinary analogue telephone line or the public telephone network. Please confirm your Mitel platform, firmware and power requirements before ordering. The external power adapter is not included unless specifically stated.
