DESIGNED FOR BUSINESS
The Panasonic KX-DT543 is designed for office users who require fast access to multiple telephone lines, extensions, speed dials and frequently used Panasonic PBX features.
Its backlit three-line LCD presents caller information, telephone status, menu options and data supplied by the connected Panasonic telephone system.
Twenty-four flexible CO keys with integrated status indicators can be assigned as outside lines, direct station selection buttons, one-touch dialling keys or other supported PBX functions.
Four softkeys beneath the display change according to the current telephone state, placing relevant call and menu options within easy reach.
Dedicated controls provide quick access to conference calling, messages, pause, flash or recall, redial, automatic answer, microphone mute, transfer, automatic dialling, hold, intercom and speakerphone operation.
The four-direction navigation control can be used to move through supported menus, directories and call logs and to adjust handset, headset, speaker and ringing volume.
The integrated full-duplex speakerphone supports natural two-way hands-free conversations. A dedicated headset socket allows use with a compatible wired business headset.
A separate electronic hook-switch socket supports compatible wireless headsets with remote call-control functionality. Compatibility depends on the headset, connection cable and telephone-system configuration.
The message and ringer lamp provides visual notification of incoming internal and external calls and can remain illuminated when a supported message-waiting notification is present.
The Digital XDP connection can support a compatible additional Panasonic digital proprietary telephone. The secondary connection can also support a suitable single-line telephone where the PBX permits XDP or parallel operation.
An optional Panasonic KX-DT590 Digital DSS Console can add 48 programmable keys for receptionists, operators and users who monitor large numbers of extensions.
The KX-DT543 receives power and digital signalling from a compatible Panasonic PBX extension port. It does not require Ethernet, Power over Ethernet or a separate mains adapter.

COMPATIBILITY & SETUP
The Panasonic KX-DT543 is a digital proprietary system telephone and requires a compatible Panasonic PBX fitted with a suitable digital extension card or digital proprietary telephone port.
Compatibility depends on the Panasonic PBX model, installed extension hardware, software version, available capacity and system programming.
Connect the telephone’s main system port to the compatible Panasonic digital extension socket using the supplied telephone line cord. The PBX provides both operating power and digital signalling.
Extension numbers, outside-line keys, direct station selection keys, speed dials, headset mode, voicemail and other functions must be assigned through the connected PBX or telephone programming.
A compatible wired headset connects to the dedicated headset socket. Compatible wireless headsets may use the separate EHS connection for remote call control, subject to the correct headset cable and configuration.
The Digital XDP connection can support another compatible Panasonic digital telephone. A supported single-line telephone may also be connected through XDP or parallel operation where the PBX permits it.
This phone does not use SIP, Ethernet or Power over Ethernet and cannot register directly with a hosted VoIP service. It is also unsuitable for direct connection to an ordinary BT-style analogue telephone line.
Please note: Panasonic digital proprietary telephones can use connectors that resemble ordinary analogue telephone plugs, but the electrical signalling is different. Please confirm your Panasonic PBX model, digital extension card and software compatibility before ordering.
