The Plantronics C5220 is designed for office and home-based users who require one professional wired headset for computer calls, online meetings, mobile communications and multimedia listening.
The USB-A inline control module connects to a compatible Windows or macOS computer without requiring a separate sound card, amplifier, battery or charging base.
The headset can be disconnected from the USB control module to expose its 3.5mm connection for use with compatible mobiles, tablets and other devices equipped with a suitable combined headset socket.
The stereo design provides sound through both earcups, helping users remain focused during telephone calls, video meetings, training sessions and computer audio.
Its noise-cancelling boom microphone helps reduce surrounding office sound so the user’s voice remains clearer to callers and meeting participants.
The microphone boom rotates through approximately 280 degrees and can be positioned for consistent voice pickup on either side of the head.
Dynamic EQ automatically optimises the headset for voice calls and adjusts the sound profile when it is used for music, videos and other multimedia content.
Wideband PC audio supports clearer, more natural speech with compatible softphones and communications applications.
The 28mm speakers provide full-range stereo media sound, making the headset suitable for training videos, recorded calls, presentations and general computer listening.
When connected through USB, the inline control module places call answering and ending, microphone mute and volume adjustment within convenient reach.
Advanced call control depends on the operating system, communications application and installed Poly software. Standard speaker and microphone audio can still operate where application controls are unsupported.
When used through the direct 3.5mm connection, available call and volume controls depend on the connected mobile, tablet or other device.
The lightweight cushioned metal headband provides an adjustable fit, while the soft leatherette-style ear cushions are designed for comfortable everyday professional use.

COMPATIBILITY & SETUP
The Plantronics C5220 connects to a compatible Windows or macOS computer through its USB-A inline control module.
Most computers will recognise the headset automatically as a speaker and microphone device. It may then need to be selected as the preferred audio device within the operating system, softphone or meeting application.
The headset can be disconnected from the USB control module and connected directly to a compatible mobile, tablet or other device through its four-pole 3.5mm headset plug.
Not every device with a 3.5mm socket supports combined headphone and microphone operation. Compatibility should be confirmed where the connected device uses separate microphone and headphone sockets or a different wiring standard.
Advanced USB functions such as call answering, ending, mute synchronisation or application status depend on the operating system, communications software and installed Poly software.
The inline USB controls are bypassed when the headset is used through the direct 3.5mm connection. Available controls then depend on the connected mobile or tablet.
The headset is not designed to connect directly to a traditional desk-phone headset socket unless a suitable compatible adapter or amplifier is used.
Microsoft Teams-certified and standard UC variants were produced. Both can provide computer audio, but certification and button behaviour depend on the precise version supplied.
