The new Plantronics EncorePro HW520 Noise-Cancelling Wired Headset is a durable stereo headset designed for contact centres, customer-service teams and other professional users who handle calls throughout the working day.
Its dual-ear design supports focused conversations, while the flexible noise-cancelling microphone helps reduce surrounding office sound. The Poly Quick Disconnect connection allows the headset to be combined with a compatible desk-phone cable, amplifier or USB adapter.

The Plantronics EncorePro HW520 is designed for professional users who spend a substantial part of the working day handling telephone or computer-based calls.
The stereo design provides call audio through both earcups, helping reduce distractions and support concentration in busy contact centres and open-plan offices.
Its flexible noise-cancelling microphone helps reduce surrounding conversation and general office noise, allowing the user’s voice to remain clearer to customers and colleagues.
Visual and tactile positioning guides on the microphone boom help users place the microphone consistently for reliable voice pickup.
The microphone boom can be positioned on either side of the head, allowing users to choose their preferred wearing orientation.
A lightweight adjustable headband and soft ear cushions support regular professional use, while durable joints and cabling are intended for demanding contact-centre environments.
The headset uses the established Poly Quick Disconnect system. This allows the user to disconnect from the lower cable without removing the headset.
Different Quick Disconnect lower cables and adapters allow the same headset to be used with compatible desk phones, headset amplifiers and computers.
The precise controls available depend on the lower cable or adapter. A basic desk-phone cable may provide audio only, while selected USB adapters can add mute, volume and call controls.
The HW520 does not contain a battery and does not require charging or wireless pairing. It receives audio and microphone connectivity through the attached lower cable or adapter.
SoundGuard acoustic protection helps limit sudden excessive sounds transmitted through the headset. Additional hearing-protection functions can depend on the connected amplifier or USB adapter.
The headset is optimised primarily for professional voice communications rather than music or general multimedia listening.
Plantronics was renamed Poly following its acquisition of Polycom, and Poly later became part of HP. Product packaging and branding may therefore display Plantronics, Poly or HP Poly.

COMPATIBILITY & SETUP
The Plantronics EncorePro HW520 terminates in a Poly Quick Disconnect connector. It cannot connect directly to a desk phone, computer or mobile device without a compatible lower cable, adapter or amplifier.
For desk-phone use, the required lower cable depends on the exact telephone manufacturer, model and headset-port arrangement.
Some telephones accept a compatible Poly QD cable directly, while others may require a headset amplifier or a telephone-specific adapter.
For computer use, a compatible Poly QD-to-USB adapter is required. USB-A and USB-C adapter options are available separately.
Functions such as call answering, ending, mute and volume control depend on the selected lower cable or USB adapter and the connected telephone or application.
The Quick Disconnect connector allows users to leave their workstation without removing the headset by separating the headset lead from the lower connection cable.
