DESIGNED FOR BUSINESS
The Poly Savi 8220 Office is designed for business users who regularly switch between desk-phone calls, computer meetings and mobile communications.
Its multi-device Office base connects to a compatible desk phone using the telephone-interface cable and to a computer through USB. A mobile phone can be paired with the base using Bluetooth.
Dedicated source controls on the base allow the user to select between computer, mobile and desk-phone audio. Calls from two connected sources can also be joined into a conference, subject to the connected equipment and service.
Long-range DECT wireless technology provides significantly greater roaming freedom than a conventional short-range Bluetooth headset. Poly specifies a maximum open-area range of up to approximately 180 metres.
Practical indoor range will normally be lower and is affected by walls, floors, building materials, interference, base position and the layout of the workplace.
Hybrid active noise cancellation helps reduce surrounding office sound in the headset speakers. This can help the user concentrate on calls and computer audio in busy workplaces.
ANC can be switched on or off using the control on the headset, allowing the user to select the most appropriate level of environmental awareness.
The noise-cancelling boom microphone uses close-conversation limiting to help reduce background sound and nearby speech, allowing the user’s voice to remain clearer for the person at the other end of the call.
The adjustable microphone boom can be positioned for consistent voice pickup and allows the headset to be worn with the microphone on either side of the head.
The dual-ear design provides sound through both speakers, making it well suited to concentrated telephone work, video meetings and multimedia audio.
On-headset controls provide convenient access to call answering and ending, mute, listening volume, power and active noise cancellation. Supported call functions vary according to the connected telephone, application and cable arrangement.
Voice prompts provide useful notifications including mute status, remaining talk time and wireless-range warnings, helping users manage calls while away from the base.
SoundGuard Digital acoustic protection helps limit sudden loud sounds and manage daily noise exposure during extended professional use.
The rechargeable lithium-ion polymer battery provides up to approximately 13 hours of talk time and up to 50 hours of standby time under manufacturer test conditions.
A full charge takes less than three hours. When not in use, the headset sits securely in the Office base, which acts as both the connection hub and charging stand.
DECT security-certified wireless technology helps protect professional conversations. Audio and device settings can be managed through supported Poly software and administrator tools.

COMPATIBILITY & SETUP
The Savi 8220 Office base connects to a compatible desk phone using the supplied telephone-interface cable and to a Windows or macOS computer using USB-A or USB-C.
A compatible mobile phone can be paired with the base through Bluetooth. The headset itself communicates with the Office base using DECT rather than connecting directly to the mobile phone.
Basic desk-phone operation normally requires the user to lift and replace the telephone handset manually. Remote answering from the headset requires either a compatible electronic hook-switch cable or a Poly HL10 mechanical handset lifter.
Electronic hook-switch cables are telephone-specific. The required cable depends on the exact manufacturer and model of desk phone and is not included unless specifically stated.
Computer call control is supported with compatible softphones and meeting applications. Available answer, end, mute and status functions can depend on the operating system, application, USB connection and installed Poly software.
The base includes desk-phone compatibility, microphone-level and listening-volume adjustments to suit different telephone systems. These settings may need to be configured during installation.
Microsoft Teams-certified and standard UC versions were produced. Both can provide computer audio, but the precise certification and button behaviour depend on the supplied variant.
