PRODUCT OVERVIEW
The refurbished Polycom VVX 250 IP Phone is a compact four-line SIP telephone designed for everyday business communications, hosted VoIP services and compatible IP-PBX platforms.
It combines a 2.8-inch colour display with Poly HD Voice, full-duplex hands-free calling, Gigabit Ethernet and Power over Ethernet. Four programmable line keys provide access to configured extensions, call appearances and telephone features.

DESIGNED FOR BUSINESS
The Polycom VVX 250 is designed for office users who need clear business calling, several programmable line keys and straightforward access to hosted telephone features.
Its compact footprint makes it suitable for individual desks, reception areas, retail counters, shared workspaces and other locations where desk space is limited.
Four physical line keys can be assigned to SIP registrations, call appearances, contacts, speed dials or platform-specific features, depending on the provisioning profile.
Additional line-key pages allow the telephone to display further assigned functions beyond the four keys visible beside the screen.
The 2.8-inch backlit colour display presents caller information, line status, contacts, menus and context-sensitive call options.
Navigation controls and soft keys provide quick access to telephone settings, directories, recent calls and platform-supported communications features.
Poly HD Voice technology supports clearer and more natural conversations when the telephone service, network and other endpoint use compatible wideband codecs.
Poly Acoustic Clarity technology supports full-duplex hands-free conversations with acoustic echo cancellation and background-noise suppression.
Acoustic Fence technology can reduce distracting background sound at the microphone when the handset or a supported wired headset is used.
The full-duplex speakerphone allows both callers to speak naturally during hands-free conversations without the restrictions of a basic half-duplex speakerphone.
A dedicated RJ9 headset port supports compatible professional wired headsets using the correct headset cable.
The USB Type-A port can support selected Poly USB headsets and compatible accessories. Exact accessory support depends on firmware and platform configuration.
Electronic hook-switch control may be available with compatible wireless headsets and the correct telephone-specific EHS cable.
Two Gigabit Ethernet ports allow the phone to connect to the network while providing a pass-through connection for a nearby computer.
The Gigabit pass-through connection avoids the 100Mbps limitation found on some earlier entry-level IP phones.
IEEE Power over Ethernet support allows the telephone to receive both power and network connectivity through one Ethernet cable when connected to a compatible PoE switch or injector.
Where PoE is unavailable, a compatible Poly mains adapter can be used. The power adapter is only included where specifically stated.
The VVX 250 uses SIP and must be configured for a compatible hosted VoIP service, SIP server or business telephone system before calls can be made.
Features such as extension numbers, voicemail, directories, call parking, presence, call recording and busy-lamp monitoring depend on the connected telephone platform.
Centralised provisioning allows compatible providers and administrators to deploy accounts, telephone settings and firmware remotely.
Both Poly UC Software and OBi Edition variants were produced. These variants use different firmware families and may not be interchangeable for every hosted service.
The telephone is supplied reset and prepared for configuration, but it does not include a SIP subscription, extension, hosted licence or provider configuration unless agreed separately.
Polycom later became Poly, which subsequently became part of HP. Product casing, labels, firmware and startup screens may therefore refer to Polycom, Poly or HP Poly.

COMPATIBILITY & SETUP
The Polycom VVX 250 is a SIP network telephone. It requires a compatible hosted VoIP provider, SIP server or business telephone platform and cannot be connected directly to an ordinary analogue telephone line.
The phone must be connected to an Ethernet network with access to the required telephone service. SIP credentials or a provider-controlled provisioning service are required before calls can be made.
Power can be supplied by a compatible IEEE 802.3af Power over Ethernet switch or injector. Where PoE is unavailable, the correct Poly-compatible mains adapter is required and is not included unless specifically stated.
The second Gigabit Ethernet port can provide a network pass-through connection for a nearby computer.
A compatible wired headset can be connected through the RJ9 headset port. Selected Poly USB headsets and accessories can also use the USB Type-A port, subject to firmware support.
The VVX 250 does not have built-in Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. Selected Wi-Fi adapters may be supported through USB, but compatibility must be confirmed for the precise firmware version.
UC Software and OBi Edition versions were produced. These firmware families can have different provider compatibility and should not be assumed to be interchangeable.
Platform features, firmware versions and remote provisioning support vary. The customer or telephone provider should confirm that the precise VVX 250 variant is approved for deployment.
The telephone is supplied without an extension number, SIP subscription, hosted telephone licence or configuration service unless specifically agreed separately.
