The new Snom M80 Ruggedised IP65 DECT Handset is designed for professional users who need reliable cordless communication in offices, warehouses, workshops, retail premises and demanding indoor or outdoor environments.

Its heavy-duty casing is resistant to dust and water splashes and has been drop tested from heights of up to two metres. The handset also combines a high-resolution colour display with Bluetooth, HD audio, vibration alert, a dedicated alarm key and long battery life.

DESIGNED FOR BUSINESS

The Snom M80 is designed for professional users who need cordless mobility in environments where an ordinary office handset may be too vulnerable to dust, moisture or accidental impacts.

Its IP65-rated casing provides protection against dust ingress and water jets, making it suitable for warehouses, workshops, logistics operations and selected outdoor working environments.

The handset has been tested to withstand drops from heights of up to two metres in accordance with the relevant MIL-STD-810G drop-test procedure.

A 2-inch backlit TFT colour display with 240 × 320 resolution provides a clear view of caller information, menus, call lists, directories and status information.

The illuminated keypad supports easier operation in dimly lit warehouses, corridors, workshops and outdoor environments.

A five-way navigation control and three context-sensitive function keys provide straightforward access to telephone settings and call functions.

The dedicated alarm key can be used with compatible Snom DECT systems and alarm configurations to raise an alert quickly.

Vibration alert provides an additional incoming-call or alarm notification where audible ringing may be difficult to hear or inappropriate.

Bluetooth connectivity supports selected compatible wireless headsets and can also work with Snom BLE beacon technology in suitable deployments.

A 3.5mm audio socket is also provided for compatible wired professional headsets.

Wideband G.722 audio supports clearer and more natural conversations when the base station, telephone service and other endpoint use compatible codecs.

The full-duplex HD speakerphone allows both callers to speak naturally during hands-free conversations.

The handset supports up to ten identities or accounts and up to two simultaneous calls, depending on base-station and telephone-platform configuration.

Call features can include hold, call waiting, attended and blind transfer, call diversion, Do Not Disturb and local three-party conferencing.

The local directory can store up to 250 entries, while compatible base stations can provide access to central or LDAP directories.

Call history provides access to missed, received and dialled calls, with up to 50 entries in each list.

The removable 1,100mAh lithium-ion battery provides up to 200 hours of standby time.

Talk time is rated at up to 17 hours using narrowband audio or up to 12 hours using wideband audio.

The supplied charging cradle uses USB power and can be daisy chained with additional compatible charging cradles through its USB Type-A connection.

DECT coverage can reach approximately 50 metres indoors and 300 metres outdoors under suitable conditions.

Actual range depends on walls, building materials, electrical interference, base-station placement and the surrounding environment.

Compatible multicell installations allow the handset to roam across wider sites while remaining connected to the business telephone system.

Firmware updates can be delivered over the air through a compatible Snom DECT base station.

The M80 supports authenticated and encrypted communication between the handset and compatible DECT base station.

The handset is not designed for cleaning with disinfectants containing alcohol, phenols or aldehydes, as these may damage the casing and seals.

The handset requires a compatible Snom DECT base station and does not include a SIP account, telephone number, hosted licence or provider configuration.
