The refurbished Yealink EXP40 Expansion Module adds programmable keys and extension-status indicators to compatible Yealink T46 and T48 series SIP phones.
Its 160 × 320 backlit graphical display presents two pages of twenty programmable functions, providing access to up to forty key assignments. Each physical key has a dual-colour LED for clear line, Busy Lamp Field and feature-status indication.

DESIGNED FOR BUSINESS
The Yealink EXP40 is designed for receptionists, administrators, customer-service teams and other users who need direct access to a large number of extensions and telephone functions.
Twenty physical keys provide one-touch access to programmed lines, contacts, monitored extensions and call-management features.
Two page-control keys allow the user to move between two sets of assignments, providing up to forty programmable functions from one module.
Each key includes a dual-colour LED that can indicate extension availability, ringing, active calls and other system-supported states.
The precise meaning of each LED colour and flashing pattern depends on the connected phone, firmware and telephone-platform configuration.
Busy Lamp Field monitoring allows users to see the status of compatible extensions before placing or transferring a call.
Shared-line and Bridged Line Appearance functions can provide visibility and control of suitable shared telephone lines.
Programmable assignments can include speed dial, call transfer, call forwarding, call park, call pickup and group pickup.
Additional supported functions can include conferencing, group listening, LDAP directory access and XML applications.
Available assignments depend on the connected Yealink phone, installed firmware, provisioning profile and telephone service.
The 160 × 320 backlit graphical display shows labels and icons for each configured function.
Sixteen levels of greyscale provide clear presentation of text, symbols and status information.
The backlight helps maintain visibility in reception areas and offices with lower ambient lighting.
The module is designed to match the appearance and desktop angle of compatible Yealink T46 and T48 series phones.
Its desktop stand provides two adjustable viewing positions for different desk layouts and user preferences.
The EXP40 can also be wall mounted as part of a suitable compatible telephone installation.
Two RJ12 connections provide data input and output, allowing additional EXP40 modules to be connected in a daisy chain.
A compatible phone can support up to six EXP40 modules, providing up to 240 programmable assignments across the installation.
One or two connected modules are normally powered by the host telephone.
When more than two modules are connected, a compatible conventional 5V/1.2A power supply is required.
The EXP40 does not operate independently and cannot be connected directly to an Ethernet network, telephone line or SIP account.
Configuration is completed through the connected Yealink phone, its web administration interface or a compatible central provisioning system.
The EXP40 was discontinued by Yealink in December 2021 and is intended primarily for maintaining or expanding compatible existing installations.
It is not the correct module for Yealink T43U, T46U or T48U phones, which use the newer Yealink EXP43.

COMPATIBILITY & SETUP
The Yealink EXP40 is compatible with the Yealink SIP-T46G, SIP-T46S, SIP-T48G and SIP-T48S IP phones.
It is not compatible with the newer Yealink T43U, T46U or T48U series, which use the Yealink EXP43 expansion module.
The module connects to the host phone through its RJ12 expansion connection and cannot operate as a standalone device.
One or two modules can normally receive power from the connected telephone. More than two modules require a compatible 5V/1.2A external power adapter.
Up to six EXP40 modules can be daisy-chained, providing up to 240 programmable assignments across the complete installation.
Programmable-key options and LED behaviour depend on the connected phone, firmware, SIP platform and administrator configuration.
Features such as Busy Lamp Field monitoring, shared lines, pickup, parking and presence must also be supported by the connected telephone service.
The EXP40 was discontinued by Yealink in December 2021. Firmware and platform compatibility should therefore be confirmed before expanding an existing installation.
Please note: An IP phone, SIP service and external power adapter are not included unless specifically stated. Confirm the exact host-phone model before ordering.
