The refurbished Yealink MP56 Microsoft Teams Certified Phone provides a native Teams calling experience for office workers, reception areas, front desks and shared business environments.

It combines a large 7-inch capacitive touchscreen with dedicated Microsoft Teams controls, built-in dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Yealink HD audio, dual Gigabit Ethernet, Power over Ethernet and support for compatible USB headsets and EXP50 expansion modules.

DESIGNED FOR BUSINESS

The Yealink MP56 is designed as a mid-level native Microsoft Teams phone for office workers, reception desks, front-office teams and shared workspaces.

It is a standalone network telephone that runs the Microsoft Teams phone application directly on the device without requiring a permanently connected computer.

The phone’s software platform was originally based on Android 9 and was subsequently upgraded by Yealink to Android 12.

The Teams-tailored interface provides access to calls, meetings, voicemail, contacts, presence information, calendars and other platform-supported functions.

A dedicated Microsoft Teams button provides rapid access to the Teams application and supported notifications.

The large 7-inch capacitive touchscreen provides a clearer working area than the smaller display fitted to entry-level Teams phones.

Its 800 × 480 display supports five-point multi-touch operation and an on-screen keyboard for account sign-in and menu navigation.

Physical dialling and call-control keys allow users to manage routine calls without relying entirely on the touchscreen.

Yealink Optimal HD Voice and Noise Proof technology help improve speech clarity and reduce distracting background sound during conversations.

The magnetic handset sits securely in its cradle and is hearing-aid compatible for users with suitable hearing devices.

A full-duplex hands-free speakerphone with acoustic echo cancellation allows both participants to speak naturally during calls.

Further audio processing includes voice-activity detection, comfort-noise generation, packet-loss concealment, adaptive jitter buffering and automatic gain control.

Supported Teams calling features include hold, mute, transfer, forwarding, group simultaneous ringing, visual voicemail and synchronised call history.

Meeting functions can include mute, hold, resume, ending a meeting and adding or removing participants, subject to the current Teams application.

Calendar integration allows users to view meeting details, schedule supported meetings and join eligible Teams sessions from the phone.

Presence integration can display availability states such as available, busy, Do Not Disturb, away and off work.

Hot-desking support allows the phone to be deployed in suitable shared-desk and flexible-working environments.

Teams and SIP Hybrid mode can provide access to compatible SIP calling alongside the native Microsoft Teams environment where correctly licensed and configured.

Built-in dual-band Wi-Fi allows the phone to connect to compatible 2.4GHz or 5GHz wireless networks where Ethernet cabling is unavailable.

A wired Gigabit Ethernet connection is normally recommended for permanent business installations where practical.

Built-in Bluetooth 4.2 supports selected compatible Bluetooth headsets without requiring a separate USB Bluetooth adapter.

A dedicated RJ9 headset socket supports compatible professional wired headsets using the correct connection cable.

The USB Type-A port can support selected USB headsets, storage devices and compatible Yealink accessories.

Dual Gigabit Ethernet ports allow the phone to connect to the network while providing a pass-through connection for a nearby computer.

IEEE 802.3af Power over Ethernet allows the phone to receive electrical power and network data through one Ethernet cable.

Where PoE is unavailable, the phone can use an optional Yealink 5V/2A mains adapter. The power adapter is not included unless specifically stated.

The MP56 supports the Yealink EXP50 colour-screen expansion module for additional programmable line and Busy Lamp Field keys.

Up to three compatible EXP50 modules may be supported, subject to firmware, telephone configuration and external power requirements.

The adjustable desktop stand allows the display angle to be changed for different desk layouts and seating positions.

The phone can also be wall mounted using a compatible optional mounting bracket.

Microsoft Teams Admin Center and Yealink Management Cloud Service can support central deployment, monitoring, firmware updates and troubleshooting.

Network and security functions include IPv4, IPv6, DHCP, static addressing, HTTPS, TLS, certificate management and IEEE 802.1X.

Yealink discontinued the MP56 Teams Edition on 30 September 2024, making refurbished units particularly useful for replacing failed phones or expanding established deployments.

The phone requires a suitable Microsoft Teams account, Teams Phone licence and administrator configuration. These services are not included with the hardware.
