PRODUCT OVERVIEW
The refurbished Yealink SIP-T42G IP Phone is a feature-rich business telephone for office users, reception teams and organisations maintaining compatible hosted VoIP or IP-PBX systems.
It supports up to twelve SIP accounts and combines a clear backlit display with six programmable line keys, Yealink Optima HD Voice, dual Gigabit Ethernet, Power over Ethernet and professional wired-headset support.

DESIGNED FOR BUSINESS
The Yealink SIP-T42G is designed for business users who require flexible multi-line calling, programmable controls and Gigabit network connectivity.
Up to twelve SIP accounts can be configured, allowing the telephone to support multiple extensions, telephone numbers or providers where permitted by the connected platform.
Six illuminated line keys provide direct access to configured lines, monitored extensions, speed dials and call-management features.
Three display pages expand the six physical line keys to provide up to fifteen programmable assignments.
The 2.7-inch backlit graphical display shows caller information, line status, menus, call history and directory entries.
Its paperless design allows programmable-key information to be shown on the display rather than relying on printed labels.
Yealink Optima HD Voice combines wideband audio hardware and acoustic processing to support clearer business conversations.
A full-duplex speakerphone with acoustic echo cancellation allows both participants to speak naturally during hands-free calls.
Supported calling features include hold, mute, transfer, forwarding, call waiting, Do Not Disturb, call pickup, call parking and voicemail access.
Three-way local conferencing allows the user to combine two additional parties into one call, subject to provider and platform support.
Busy Lamp Field and presence functions can display the status of compatible extensions before a call is placed or transferred.
Directory support includes a local phonebook for up to 1,000 contacts, with support for suitable XML and LDAP remote directories.
Dual Gigabit Ethernet ports allow the phone and a nearby computer to share one wired network connection without limiting the computer to Fast Ethernet speeds.
IEEE 802.3af Power over Ethernet allows a compatible switch or injector to deliver power and network data through one Ethernet cable.
Where PoE is unavailable, the phone can use an optional compatible Yealink 5V/1.2A mains power adapter.
The dedicated RJ9 headset port supports compatible professional wired headsets using the appropriate connection cable.
A dedicated RJ12 EHS port supports remote call control with selected wireless headset systems and a compatible electronic hook-switch adapter.
The SIP-T42G has no USB port and does not support USB headsets, USB recording or USB wireless adapters.
Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are not built in, so the phone normally requires a wired Ethernet network connection.
The integrated desktop stand provides two viewing angles and the phone can also be wall mounted using a compatible bracket.
Provisioning options include configuration through the telephone, web interface or automatic deployment using FTP, TFTP, HTTP or HTTPS.
Yealink ended sales of the SIP-T42G on 1 April 2020 and ended official manufacturer support on 1 April 2025.
The phone requires a compatible SIP account, hosted VoIP service or IP-PBX configuration. These services are not included with the hardware.

COMPATIBILITY & SETUP
The Yealink SIP-T42G is a SIP network phone and requires a compatible hosted VoIP provider, SIP server or IP-PBX.
The telephone connects through Gigabit Ethernet and can receive power from a compatible IEEE 802.3af PoE switch or injector.
Where PoE is unavailable, a compatible Yealink 5V/1.2A power adapter is required. The adapter is not included unless specifically stated.
The SIP-T42G does not include USB, Wi-Fi or Bluetooth connectivity and should normally be connected to the network using an Ethernet cable.
Compatible wired professional headsets can connect through the RJ9 headset port. Selected wireless headset systems require a compatible adapter connected through the dedicated EHS port.
Available calling functions, programmable keys, directories and Busy Lamp Field behaviour depend on the selected VoIP provider and administrator configuration.
The model reached end of life in April 2025 and no longer receives official Yealink software, security or technical support.
Please note: A SIP account, telephone number, hosted licence, PoE equipment, power adapter and headset are not included unless specifically stated.
