The new Yealink W80B is a professional DECT IP multi-cell base station designed to extend cordless telephone coverage across large offices, warehouses, hotels, hospitals, retail premises and other multi-zone workplaces.

Multiple W80B units can be deployed as part of a Yealink W80 system, providing seamless roaming and call handover for compatible handsets as users move between coverage areas. A complete system can support up to thirty base stations, one hundred SIP accounts, one hundred compatible DECT devices and one hundred simultaneous calls.

DESIGNED FOR BUSINESS

The Yealink W80B is designed for workplaces where the coverage of a single conventional DECT base station is insufficient.

Multiple base stations can be positioned throughout a building or site to create overlapping cordless coverage zones.

Compatible registered handsets can roam between these zones while remaining connected to the same Yealink W80 telephone system.

Seamless call handover allows an active call to transfer between synchronised W80B base stations as the user moves around the deployment.

A standard W80 deployment combines one W80DM DECT Manager with up to thirty W80B base stations.

The W80DM controls SIP accounts, registered devices, system configuration and communication between the installed base stations.

The complete system supports up to one hundred SIP accounts and one hundred compatible registered DECT devices.

Up to one hundred simultaneous calls can be supported across a fully configured system, subject to endpoint capacity and the connected telephone service.

Each W80B can support up to eight simultaneous narrowband calls or up to four simultaneous wideband calls through its local radio interface.

The platform supports compatible Yealink DECT handsets, conference phones, DECT headsets and selected desk-phone DECT solutions.

Available endpoint compatibility depends on the installed W80 firmware and the individual handset or device model.

Yealink officially identifies compatible devices including the W53H, W56H, W59R and selected DECT-enabled telephone solutions.

Later firmware and current Yealink product documentation also support additional compatible handset models, subject to version requirements.

Typical DECT coverage can reach approximately 50 metres indoors or 300 metres outdoors under ideal conditions.

Actual coverage depends on walls, floors, reinforced concrete, metal structures, lifts, machinery, interference and the positioning of each base station.

Coverage areas must overlap sufficiently to support reliable synchronisation, roaming and active-call handover.

For larger, safety-critical or structurally complex sites, a DECT survey is recommended before permanent installation.

The W80 system provides access to local directories, remote phonebooks, LDAP, XML phonebooks and supported PBX contact services.

Available call functions can include hold, mute, transfer, forwarding, call waiting, Do Not Disturb, voicemail and caller identification.

Telephone features depend on the connected endpoint, SIP provider, PBX and administrator configuration.

The base station supports IPv4 and IPv6 network environments together with VLAN and quality-of-service configuration.

Automatic provisioning and centralised management help administrators deploy and maintain larger W80 installations.

Security functions include encrypted DECT communication and supported SIP security protocols such as TLS and SRTP.

IEEE 802.3af Power over Ethernet allows the W80B to receive power and network connectivity through one RJ45 cable.

Where PoE is unavailable, a compatible optional Yealink mains power adapter can be used.

The W80B is not a standalone cordless telephone and does not include a handset, SIP account or hosted telephone service.
